When I first created something out of wood in high school, I knew it was probably something I’ll be playing around with my entire life. Desks, shelving and bowls are just a few of the things I’ve created over the years.

These days, I own a mini wood lathe and I turn pens. It’s a great way to get away from the computer and work with my hands. A distraction that also creates a reward. Perfect.

My pens are turned from a variety of Australian woods including Gum, Wattle, Oak and Ash. Some even originate from old wine barrels including French and American Oak. Sourced across Australia and recycled from wood that would have otherwise be turned into wood chips, it’s incredible to see the results of these unique Australian timbers.
